New Delhi. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of Rs 131 crore for Team India after winning the T20 World Cup 2026. With this announcement the Board has left behind its own old record. Earlier, when the Indian team won the T20 World Cup 2024 title under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, BCCI had announced a reward of Rs 125 crore for the players. Now once again after the big achievement of the team, the board has decided to give even more amount.
This time, the Indian team under the leadership of Captain Suryakumar Yadav won the title by defeating the New Zealand team in the final match played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With this win, India became the first team in the history of the tournament to successfully defend its title.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash prize of INR 131 crore for Team India after its stellar performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, BCCI said in a release. India lifted the coveted trophy by defeating New Zealand in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, successfully defending their title and becoming the first team in the history of the tournament to retain the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. With this win, India also became the first team to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup three times, further cementing their place among the most successful teams in the history of the format.
