'Dragon' release date: Jr NTR and Prashant Neel's action thriller to hit theatres in 2027 - Report
Jr NTR is currently working with filmmaker Prashant Neel for their upcoming grand action thriller, which is expected to be named ‘Dragon’. There has been a lot of talk going around the film’s release and recently, the music composer of the film, Ravi Basrur, gave an update on when fans can expect the film to hit the big screens.
Music composer Ravi Basrur, while speaking with Variety India, confirmed that the film will be released in 2027. Although we could not mention a lot , he shared that the shoot is moving at a brisk speed and suggested that the film itself is shaping up really well.

He composed the music for the writer-director’s ‘ KGF ’ series and also gave music in Prabhas starrer ‘Salaar’. Sharing his experience of working with him, he shared that it is always wonderful and added, "It is always wonderful to work with him. As a filmmaker, he is very sure of what he wants in terms of the BGM or the music. Neel knows his scenes in and out. This is why we work well together."
All the BGMs Ravi Basrur has composed for Prashanth Neel’s films have been highly enjoyed by the fans and the upcoming tunes also come with high expectations from the fans.
Stars involvement in music discussionsDuring the same conversation, the musician was also asked which stars he has worked with, including Prabhas, Yash and now with Jr NTR, who was the most involved in the music of their films. He mentioned that they are all passionate about their films and discuss some aspects, but the last call is made by the director.
"I would say they are passionate about films (Laughs). And they do discuss some aspects when we meet but it is the director's call," he said.
About the film’s releaseEarlier, the makers announced the film to hit the big screens on June 25, 2026 and there have been speculations about its delay. Now it seems that the film will be released in theatres next year.
The movie also stars ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ star Rukimini Vasanth, Anil Kapoor and also expected to include Tovino Thomas.
