Burglars break into house in broad daylight, steal jewellery worth ₹4.11 lakh in Kavoor
Mangaluru: Burglars broke open the door of a house and decamped with gold and silver jewellery worth ₹4.11 lakh in a daytime theft reported near Ullas Nagar bus stop in Kavoor.
According to police, the incident occurred around 12 noon on Saturday. The woman of the house had briefly stepped out to visit her elder sister’s house located behind her residence.
Taking advantage of the absence of occupants, the accused allegedly broke open the door and entered the house. They then opened the cupboard and stole gold and silver ornaments kept inside.
A case has been registered at the Kavoor police station and further investigation is underway.
Details of stolen items
The stolen valuables include a 14-gram gold necklace, a 15-gram gold mangalsutra chain with karimani beads, a pair of 5-gram gold jhumka earrings, a pair of silver anklets weighing about 40 grams belonging to a child, a pair of silver bangles weighing about 15 grams, another pair of silver anklets weighing about 95 grams, and three bead-studded chains weighing around 30 grams.
