AI Jobs Women India: Nowadays there is a lot of discussion about Artificial Intelligence and new technology. Recent research by big tech companies has claimed that The rise of AI Use can become the biggest threat to women’s jobs. However, recent data from India has completely changed this thinking. According to a new report, in India AI and future technology The share of women in jobs is continuously increasing. Now, nearly 31 out of every 100 new tech jobs are held by women, a clear sign of increasing participation in the technology sector.

Rapid increase in the share of women in AI sector

According to the latest data from talent platform InstaHire, till last year the share of women in AI- jobs was about 26%. However, now this figure has increased to 31%. Women are no longer limited to just general or support roles; They are also making their presence felt in many special areas of technology.

These include:

  • data analytics

  • design engineering

  • Research and Development (R&D)

  • Product Management

  • quality assurance

Working in these areas requires deep understanding, analytical skills and technical expertise, where women are rapidly making their mark.

Campus placement changed the picture

The total female workforce in the Indian tech industry is currently around 36%. In entry-level jobs this figure reaches almost 35%. Experts believe that campus placements in engineering colleges are a major reason for this change. Companies are now giving priority to talent and skills instead of gender bias during recruitment. This is the reason why a large number of young women are coming into the tech sector.

Still less women in top positions

Women’s participation is increasing rapidly in early career, but their number decreases as the career progresses. According to statistics, about 23% of leadership positions are held by women, while at top executive positions this percentage drops to about 17%. This gap reflects the challenges women still face in reaching career heights.

‘Progression gap’ still exists in the tech industry

Sarbojit Malik, Chief Business Officer, InstaHire, says, “There is still a glaring structural gap in the tech industry. Nearly one in three professionals entering the tech sector is a woman, but less than one in four women reach leadership levels.” According to her, this situation shows that the challenge for women to advance in India’s tech talent pipeline is far from over. However, the good news is that with increasing access to AI and new technologies, opportunities for women are also increasing rapidly.
