Formula One ace Arvid Lindblad is gearing up for his debut campaign in the world's fastest sport, but the talented teen doesn't even hold a driver's licence. The 18-year-old, who was born in the UK to parents of Swedish and Indian heritage, has been enlisted by Racing Bulls to partner Liam Lawson for the 2026 campaign.
However, rather remarkably, Lindblad doesn't boast the official means to drive a car on the road in the UK. The Surrey-born driver admitted as much to Max Verstappen earlier this year, with the F1 superstar having a look of surprise on his face after being told the revelation.
In the build-up to the 2026 Formula One season, the Red Bull social media team have played on this by inviting social media sensation Angry Ginge in for a collaboration. The clip features Ginge acting as a mock driving instructor, quizzing Lindblad on his ability behind the wheel, with the Formula One star driving a Ford instead of his usual 200mph beast.
At the end of the challenge, Ginge said of Linbald's driving: "He's a great lad. Driving? There's a little bit to tweak, but I thought he picked up quite a few things naturally. His parking, which is one of the hardest things to do, he's a natural at, I will be honest.
"One thing he did struggle with was blind spots, he didn't check them until about an hour and a half in. But again, we got there and you could argue he was successful. He's still alive, I'm still alive, and we didn't crash into any moving vehicles."

Lindblad will have much tougher tests on his hands this season when he takes to the track as a full-time driver. His first assignment will come in Melbourne later this month when the 2026 campaign kicks off with the Australian Grand Prix.
Speaking ahead of his debut campaign, Lindblad reflected on his journey to this stage so far. He told The Independent: "She only told me this a few years ago, it's quite a funny story now. It was really something we all had to work on. It wasn't always easy at home, but we tried to get the balance right.
"I've known in my head since 2021 that, if everything was perfect, with the rules and what ages you could race in each category, 2026 was the earliest I could be in F1. It's always been my dream and the fact it's coming true is obviously very exciting."
