Death in Paradise bosses have confirmed the return of Detective Esther Williams (played by Zahra Ahmadi) in Beyond Paradise after noticing the character was missing from theseries four first-look pictures.

Alongside a picture of Esther, the caption read, "Did we think we could get away with teasing you with our first look photo? Maybe. Did you let us know you needed to see Zahra Ahmadi in the new series? Yes. Loudly.

"So here you go. #BeyondParadise series 4 comes to BBC One and iPlayer later this month!"

Fans were thrilled by the news and took to the comments section to share their thoughts. One wrote, "I AM ON THE FLOOR."

Another said, "Hoorah, Esther is ace."

While a third added, "Humphrey would be lost without her."

"Screaming," someone else went on as another commented, "Yes, yes, yes ... I love Beyond Paradise......and I love to see her back again."e Beyond Paradise......and i love to see her back again."

Other fans were pleading for Esther and Archie (Jamie Bamber) to get back together, as the detective had broken up with him in series three.

"PLEASE put Archie and her back together on the show," one pleaded.

Beyond Paradise will be back on screens later this month and will see Humphrey (Kris Marshall) and the team solving several crimes in Shipton Abbott.

The fourth series will feature a number of famous guest stars, including Susan George, Phil Daniels, Michael Cochrane, Melanie Walters, and Vincent Franklin.

Returning to the series alongside Zahra and Kris will be Sally Bretton (Martha Lloyd), Dylan Llewellyn (PC Kelby Hartford), Barbara Flynn (Anne Lloyd) and Felicity Montagu (Margo Martins), Jamie Bamber (Archie Hughes), Melina Sinadinou (Zoe Williams), Eva Feiler (Lucy Thompson), and Phil Daniels (Marvelous Harris).

The synopsis for the upcoming series teases, "DI Humphrey Goodman and the team will be back in Shipton Abbott as they investigate the death of a novelist who predicted their demise, a magical night of Dark Morris that soon turns sour, a stolen treasure map that suddenly reappears, and the alleged sighting of a vengeful mermaid lurking out at sea.

"Humphrey (Kris Marshall) and Martha (Sally Bretton) launch into married life as they search for a new home, whilst Humphrey wrestles with an impossible decision that may change the lives of everyone at the station forever."
