TalkTV star Julia Hartley-Brewer has said that her colleagues will "have their work cut out" after she injured herself while on a break from the studio. The 57-year-old presenter had taken a holiday to go skiing when she was left bruised from a nasty injury.

Posting to X, formerly Twitter, the TV star shared a snap of her with her hair pushed back by her glasses as she smiled in front of a snowy background. Another picture showed a close up of her eye, which had a huge dark bruise underneath it. She explained in a caption: "The @TalkTV make-up ladies will have their work cut out for them more than usual on Monday morning thanks to my ski holiday shiner."

Fans commented with words of support as they hoped for her to have a speedy recovery. One wrote: "Awww! Eyes are still beautiful Julia!"

Another joked: "Always said you were a bruiser Julia. I meant as in a brave and decent journalist obviously."

Someone else sympathised: "Hope you didn't suffer any other injuries? I fell and bruised my chin at the end of November, not skiing, my chin was far worse than that! And damaged my shoulder, which stopped me skiing in January!"

In a recent show, Julia ended up banging her head on the studio's desk in despair.

It came as the presenter was such disbelief at the "incompetence" of Labour when it comes to immigration that she banged her head against the table repeatedly while speaking to migration expert Robert Bates.

In an explosive moment of television, Bates exposed the latest deportation figures versus 2019.

He said: "In their own figures that they've published today they show that the percentage of people who are arrested and actually end up being deported, it's 12% under Labour, it was 25% in 2019! So that number has fallen off a cliff under this government."

She later lost it, telling her guest: "Sorry, sorry, I'm just going to bang my head on the table a few times." She proceeded to put her forehead against the desk.
