Experts believe that there are some diseases whose risk is higher in women than in men. Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in women. This disease is especially seen in women above 40 years of age, although nowadays its cases are being reported at younger ages also. Early symptoms may include a lump, pain, or change in shape in the breast. According to doctors, this disease can be controlled to a great extent with regular checkups and timely treatment.


2. Thyroid


Thyroid problems are also seen more in women. It is a hormone disease which affects the metabolism of the body. Fatigue, weight gain or loss, hair fall and mood swings can be common symptoms. This disease can be controlled with timely diagnosis and correct treatment.


3. Anemia


A large number of women in India suffer from anemia. This problem is seen especially in pregnant women and adolescent girls. Due to iron deficiency in the body, blood volume decreases, which can cause problems like weakness, dizziness and fatigue. A balanced diet and iron-rich food can prove helpful in preventing this problem.


4. Osteoporosis


Osteoporosis is a disease in which bones become weak and brittle. This problem is seen especially in women after menopause. Deficiency of calcium and vitamin D is included in its main reasons. This disease can be prevented with regular exercise, balanced diet and doctor’s advice.


5. Depression and stress


Women often face mental stress due to dual responsibilities of family and work. This can increase problems like depression and anxiety. According to experts, taking care of mental health is as important as physical health. Taking rest from time to time, support from family and consulting a specialist if needed can be beneficial.
