The weather is finally showing signs of spring, and the school Easter holidays are on the way, meaning it's time to organise some fun family days out. That also means the return of theme park season, with the likes of Alton Towers, Legoland, Chessington and Drayton Manor all fully reopening their doors, complete with new lands, rides and fun Easter events.

We're talking everything from Easter egg hunts and trails, to meeting the Easter bunny and then of course, all of the usual rides and attractions for families to enjoy.

We take a look at the UK theme park events for Easter that you'll want to bookmark...

Alton Towers will be opening the world's first Bluey rollercoaster in CBeebies Land on March 28, just in time for the school holidays. The name has been revealed as Bluey the Ride: Here Come The Grannies!, and while exact details are still under wraps, some teaser images have shown that the ride will take visitors through the Heeler's back garden.

Older kids and adults can enjoy the wide range of Alton Towers' thrill rides, including the spinning Toxicator, which opened in March 2025. Riders are flung into the air upside down before being spun around at high speed for a truly adrenaline-pumping experience. You can find out more about Alton Towers Easter breaks here.

From March 28 to April 12, visitors to Chessington can meet Bonnie Bunny who'll be appearing across the theme park and leading guests to a Giant Easter Egg Trail. Visitors can enjoy the park's thrill rides, and ticket prices include access to Chessington Zoo and the SEA LIFE Centre. Meanwhile, there's going to be more fun for families as Chessington is set to open a new World of PAW Patrol land in spring 2026. An exact opening date has not yet been confirmed, so it may not be ready before the Easter holidays. The new PAW Patrol themed area is set to include four rides, including a rollercoaster suitable for younger guests, pup meet and greets, and play areas. LEGOLAND® will be celebrating 15 years of LEGO® NINJAGO® over the Easter holidays. From March 28 to April 12, kids can become a Spinjitzu Master, meeting their NINJAGO heroes and learning ninja skills. The event is included in the cost of LEGOLAND tickets. Throughout 2026, LEGOLANDwill also be celebrating its 30th anniversary, and it has lots of birthday celebrations planned throughout the park. There's a new show called Birthday Brick Bash featuring music, dancing, and birthday surprises, and a giant eight-foot LEGO birthday cake.

Paultons Park will be hosting Hoppy Easter 2026, which includes a chance to meet Bobtail and Betty Bunny from March 28 to April 12. A teaser video shows Easter decorations throughout the park and the bunnies interacting with guests. Paultons Park is perhaps most famous for being the home of Peppa Pig World, and in 2025, a new character Evie was introduced, Peppa's baby sister. Fans of the show can now meet baby Evie at character meet and greets.

Although the theme park's £12million new landwon't be open for Easter, it's definitely worth planning a visit in May when it launches. Valgard: Realm of the Vikings opens May 16, so it'll be up and running for May half term. The new land will include the park's first inverting rollercoaster, Drakon, and the UK's first Vild Swing ride, as well as a themed restaurant. You can find out more and book at paultonspark.co.uk.

From 28 March to April 19, Drayton Manor will be hosting a Care Bears Spring Celebration in the heart of the park. Guests can join in colouring a huge Care Bears mural, meet their favourite characters, and finish the day with a themed show on the lake. In addition to the Care Bears fun, guests can visit the award-winning Thomas Land, the on-site zoo, and enjoy a huge variety of rides across the theme park. At the moment, Drayton Manor tickets can be booked until April 6, but more dates will be released shortly.
