New Delhi: Several areas of Delhi are likely to face water supply disruptions on March 6 and March 7, 2026, according to the Delhi Jal Board. The civic body said the disruption will occur due to the annual cleaning of underground reservoirs and booster pumping stations, a routine maintenance exercise carried out to maintain water quality and infrastructure efficiency.
Residents have been advised to store water in advance as per their requirements.
During the maintenance work, water supply from certain facilities will be temporarily halted, which may affect supply in several nearby localities.
Such cleaning drives are conducted every year to prevent contamination and ensure safe water delivery to households.
Localities that may experience water shortages on March 6 include CR Park Pocket-52, Chirag Enclave, Hemkunt Colony, Godavari Apartments, Dakshinpuri, MB Extension Bypass Road, Khajoor Road, Molarband Extension, Madanpur Khadar, Ali Gaon, Jungpura, Lajpat Nagar, Bhogal, GK-2, Malviya Nagar, Chirag Delhi, East of Kailash, Dayanand Colony, Pocket-D Dilshad Garden, Yamuna Vihar and Bhajanpura.
On March 7, water supply disruptions may occur in Badarpur, Madanpur Khadar, Ali Gaon, Jungpura, Lajpat Nagar, Bhogal, GK-2, Malviya Nagar, Chirag Delhi, East of Kailash, Kailash Kunj, Mount Kailash, Jasola Vihar, Badarpur Village, Yamuna Vihar, Dilshad Garden and several areas in Rohini, including Sectors 16, 5, 8 and 24.
The Delhi Jal Board has requested residents to store sufficient water in advance to avoid inconvenience during the disruption period.
Authorities also said that water tankers will be made available if required. In case of emergencies or additional assistance, residents can contact the DJB helpline at 1916.
