New Delhi: The national capital is expected to witness mainly clear skies on March 6, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The maximum temperature in the city is likely to remain between 33 degrees C and 35 degrees C, while the minimum temperature may settle between 15 degrees C and 17 degrees C.

Wind pattern during the day

The IMD said winds are likely to blow from the west at 5–10 kmph between 5:30 am and 11:30 am. During the afternoon hours, winds may shift to the northwest at 5–10 kmph, while in the evening they could turn southwest with speeds of up to 5 kmph.

Air quality remains moderate

Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 149 at 7 am, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). This falls under the ‘moderate’ category.

The CPCB classifies AQI into six categories:

  • Good (0–50) – Minimal impact on health
  • Satisfactory (51–100) – Minor breathing discomfort to sensitive individuals
  • Moderate (101–200) – Breathing discomfort to people with lung disease, asthma, and heart conditions
  • Poor (201–300) – Breathing discomfort to most people on prolonged exposure
  • Very Poor (301–400) – Respiratory illness likely on prolonged exposure
  • Severe (401–500) – Serious health effects even during light physical activity
