IIT Hyderabad Internship 2026: If you're interested in an internship at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad, here's some good news for you. IIT Hyderabad has invited applications for the renowned Summer Undergraduate Research Exposure (SURE) Internship 2026. This internship program is for students who want to gain skills in the field of technology. Candidates have until March 10, 2026, to apply.

IIT Hyderabad has announced internship opportunities for a total of 250 seats. Of these, 100 seats are reserved for female candidates.


Who can apply?


MSc/MA – First-year students in Math, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology


BTech/BDes: Second or third-year students in all branches


Integrated Courses: Third or fourth-year students in the BTech/MTech integrated program




What are the educational qualifications?


To apply, candidates must be among the top 20 percent of students in their class or department. A certificate from the Principal or HOD of the institute will be required.


How much will the stipend be?


This internship will be conducted between May and July 2026. Students can choose the duration as per their convenience:



  • 1 month – ₹7,500 stipend

  • 1.5 months – ₹10,000 stipend

  • 2 months (full session) – ₹15,000 stipend

  • First, visit the official portal iith.ac.in/research/SURE.

  • Fill in your personal and educational information in the online form.

  • Upload your CV, previous marksheets, and certificates of your top 20% rank.

  • Submit your application before the deadline of March 10, 2026.


How will the selection process be conducted?


Selection for the internship will be conducted in two stages. In the first stage, applications will be screened. This stage may be followed by an online interview by the relevant department. Candidates will be selected based on their academic record, performance in examinations such as Olympiads or NTSE, and interest in research.


Students will receive hostel accommodation.


Selected students will be provided accommodation in the IIT Hyderabad student hostel. However, they will have to manage their mess expenses themselves. This will be a full-time residential program, so online or part-time internships are not permitted. According to the institute, the list of selected candidates will be released on the website by April 15, 2026, and selected students will also be notified via email.
