News India Live, Digital Desk: In the rush of Holi, we often do not have time to make sweets. In such a situation, these Gulab Jamuns made from bread are not only economical but also taste amazing.1. Essential Ingredients (Ingredients List) Bread slices: 8-10 (white bread) Milk: half cup (better with cream) Sugar: 1.5 cup (for syrup) Water: 1 cup Cardamom powder: half teaspoon Finely chopped nuts: for decoration (pistachios or almonds) Oil or ghee: for frying 2. Method of preparing syrup: First prepare the syrup because gulab jamuns have to be put in hot syrup immediately after frying: Add 1.5 cups of sugar and 1 cup of water in a pan. Cook it on medium flame for 5-7 minutes till it becomes slightly sticky (no need to make one string syrup). Finally add cardamom powder in it and turn off the flame. 3. Preparing Bread Dough: Cut the brown edges of the bread and separate them with a knife. Grind the white part of the bread in a mixer or break it finely with hands. Now add milk little by little and knead a soft dough. Keep in mind that the dough should not be too hard, otherwise the gulab jamuns may burst. Mix one spoon of ghee in this dough and make it smooth. 4. Frying & Soaking: Make small balls from the prepared dough and prepare smooth balls. Make sure that there are no cracks in them. Heat ghee or oil in a pan. Keep the flame medium-low. Fry the gulab jamuns till they turn golden brown. Immediately after frying, put them in lukewarm syrup. Let them remain immersed in the syrup for about 15-20 minutes so that they absorb the juice from inside. 5. Special Tips (Chef’s Special Tips) The magic of cream: If you add some fresh cream in milk, the taste of Gulab Jamun will be exactly like Mawa. Stuffing: If you want, you can put a small piece of sugar candy or cardamom seeds in between the balls, this will make the jamuns even softer from inside. Choose only white bread: For better results, use only fresh white bread instead of brown or multigrain bread.
