Tech-savvy criminals can often swipe modern cars from their driveways without ever setting foot inside or near the homes. However, Amazon offers a simple item with top-rated customer reviews that could help people sleep with "peace of mind" knowing criminals have a low chance of copying their keys.

The BBC previously reported that keyless car theft is on the rise, with Office for National Statistics (ONS) data pointing out that more than 100,000 vehicles were stolen in 2025 alone. Of that number, Admiral Insurance claimed that its figures suggest "between 60% and 70% of vehicle thefts in the past year were keyless models".

The WHonor Faraday Pouch Keyless Entry Signal Blocker is available to buy for £6.99. For that price, shoppers get two pouches delivered to their door (down from £10.99 originally), meaning protection can also be provided for any spare keys criminals may target.

Describing the items online, Amazon bosses claim: "[The] WHonor Faraday Bag provides a complete signal-blocking solution for your vehicle key fob. Simply place the key inside the bag, which prevents thieves from amplifying its signal to unlock your car, effectively stopping remote access to keyless entry systems.

"Crafted with textured carbon fibre leather and dual-layer military-grade shielding, the WHonor Faraday Pouch has a built-in keyring to securely attach your keys, making them easier to remove and reducing the risk of loss".

There are similar alternatives available elsewhere, such as the Hilka Pro-Craft Faraday Anti-Theft Car Key Signal Blocker Pouches (Screwfix, £7.99 for twin pack) or the Anti-Theft Car Key Signal Blocker (Halfords, £6 each). But, Amazon shoppers had rave reviews about the WHonor versions.

One said: "I bought this for my wife's Mini as there have been a lot of car thefts at her workplace. The pouch is well-made and works a treat. We have tried to start the car whilst the key is in the pouch and the car says "no key detected". Well worth it for peace of mind!" Another wrote: "The blocking is dependable, and I really like the inner key ring. A practical, well-made product and great value for a two-pack."

A third put: "I think [this is] a small price for sleeping well and not waking up to find your car missing." Someone else shared: "Got one [as] my mate had his car stolen from outside his home, was told by police that if he had a pouch it would probably have stopped the thieves."

Not all shoppers were best pleased, as one claimed: "I bought my pouch in June 2025, it's now January 2026. At first, the pouch worked well, completely blocking the signal. Since the end of 2025, it has stopped working."

Another warned Amazon shoppers that they were "able to unlock and drive [their] car without taking the keys out of the bag". Others also reported similar issues - with some claiming that people need to "test regularly" to see if they are still protected.

Overall, most of the feedback was glowing, with nearly 6,500 leaving five-star reviews. One more of those said: "Even with the pouch next to the car, unless you remove the entire smart key from the pouch, it will not unlock the car. Does make it less convenient to open and close the car, but it’s a precaution worth having for any car. The inconvenience of losing a car is much worse, I imagine!"
