Bengaluru: A major update has emerged regarding 'Toxic', one of the country’s most anticipated films starring Rocking Star Yash. Following the massive success of KGF 2, expectations for this project have been sky-high.
If everything had gone according to plan, Toxic was scheduled to hit screens on March 19. The Geetu Mohandas directorial was set for a box office clash with Ranveer Singh’s 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge'. However, the Toxic team has now shared the disappointing news that the film’s release has been pushed back.
Due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Toxic will not be released on March 19 as intended. Instead, the date has been moved to June 4.
On Wednesday, March 4, Yash shared a statement on behalf of his production house and KVN Productions explaining the reasons for the delay. A portion of the statement read, "However, the current uncertainty, especially in the Middle East, has created a situation that affects our goal of reaching and connecting with the widest possible audience."
"Considering the interests of the production house and our overseas business partners, the film’s release has now been rescheduled. We thank you for your understanding and patience and look forward to your continued love and support," the producers wrote.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas and co-written by Yash, Toxic has been filmed in both English and Kannada. The producers stated that one of their distribution partners, Phars Film, advised them to reschedule the release.
Toxic features an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria alongside Yash. Produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups' is now set to release on June 4.
