Liam Rosenior is baffled to why Alejandro Garnacho is booed wherever he goes but has insisted it does not affect the Chelsea winger.
In Rosenior's first match as Blues head coach, there were jeers whenever Garnacho was in possession away at League One side Charlton Athletic. Even against sides in the lower leagues, Garnacho is a very unpopular figure.
Rosenior was trying to put his finger on exactly why the 21-year-old is not liked but struggled to find the reason, though admitted playing for a club of Chelsea's stature could be a contributing factor.

"It happened at Charlton as well, I don't understand," said Rosenior on Garnacho being the target of boos. "I don't understand why it happens, maybe because he's such a threat.
"Playing for a club like Chelsea, that just comes with the territory. It comes for me as their coach. It comes for the players.
"You have to rise above that and not take notice of it. That's the best way for me. I don't think you use it as fuel. Your motivation should be there anyway to perform.
"All Garna needs to do is keep working really hard because his ability is not in question."
"No, it doesn't [affect Garnacho]," continued Rosenior. "It's not something that we've spoken about. We've had many conversations, but opposition fans booing you normally means you're a threat for the opposition."
The former Manchester United winger, who signed for Chelsea last summer for £40million, was criticised for his attitude off the pitch during his time at Old Trafford. Whether it was some of his social media activity or falling out with the head coach, Garnacho's behaviour has always been in the spotlight.
Rosenior, though, believes some people have the wrong perception in their heads about the Argentine.
"He's a great kid," said the Chelsea head coach. "He's had a very difficult thing happen in his life recently as well. And rather than tell me about that, he wanted to put himself forward for a game and told me after the game where he had to go back home.
"People make judgments based on the way people look. Garna is a really, really good character, who works really, really hard every day in training and I know in the end his quality is going to show in a really consistent way."
With Pedro Neto suspended following his sending off at Arsenal, and Jamie Gittens out with a hamstring injury, Garnacho could be used on the left-hand side against Aston Villa on Wednesday. Rosenior believes the winger is on the right track for success at Chelsea.
"He's got huge ability," Rosenior said. "For any young player, the biggest thing is to be challenged on your consistency level. But he's shown really, really good signs in terms of, not just in training, his engagement in meetings, that he's on a really, really good track."
