With devotion, patience and spirit of community, Ramadan, the holy month, comes with a rhythm to Muslims the world over. During the period of almost 30 days, the believers starve between the sunrise and sunset, starting with sehri in the morning and continuing the day with iftar evening meal with which the fast is broken. In addition to the fact that this month is based on fasting (abstinence of food and water), it is also about prayer, contemplation, charity, and returning to faith.

It is the most basic of gestures, but it comes at a very opportune time; here is a brief but very touching act of kindness which has captured the attention of the internet in the midst of these very spiritual days. A video of a caring act by a Rapido driver at the time of iftar has trended on the internet with many of the viewers often being moved.

The popular clip that is currently on Instagram was recorded when a woman passenger asked the driver to accelerate since it was at the verge of sunset. She may miss iftar, so one may hear her saying, Bhaia jaldi chala sakte ho, iftaari ka time ho gaya hai. Bhook bhi lagi hai bohot, which means that she was concerned about not being late to get to her destination to have a fast.

The driver did not just speed up; he/she took a considered option. One time when he was riding, he pulled over briefly and got out. A few minutes after, he came back with food and drink such that the traveler would have something to eat in case they got stuck in the road.
