In the last match of the Super-8 stage of T20 World Cup 2026, one wicket made a lot of headlines. This wicket belonged to West Indies batsman Shimron Hetmyer, who was out on the ball of Jasprit Bumrah. The field umpire already gave him out, after which the matter went to the third umpire. But Hetmyer did not get any relief from there too and he had to go back to the pavilion.

West Indies coach Darren Sammy appeared surprised by this decision. His reaction was captured on camera, which is now going viral on social media. Let us tell you that the final match of the Super 8 stage of T20 World Cup 2026 was played between India and West Indies on March 1 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Was Hetmyer out on Bumrah’s ball or not?

Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Shimron Hetmyer in the 11.3rd over. Hetmyer tried to play a strong shot on Bumrah’s ball but the ball took the edge of the bat and went into the air. Wicketkeeper Sanju Samson took an easy catch without any mistake. The field umpire immediately gave him out.

However, Hetmyer was not satisfied with this decision and hinted at taking DRS. The matter went to the third umpire. Replays clearly showed that the ball had hit the bat and a clear spike was visible even in the ultra-edge. That means it was clear that the ball had hit the edge. After this, the third umpire also declared him out and Hetmyer had to return to the pavilion disappointed. During this time, the reaction of Darren Sammy sitting in the dugout was also captured on camera. Looking at his facial expressions it seemed as if he was not happy with this decision.
