Lucknow, March 1. In view of the Holi festival in the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to make concrete arrangements for cleanliness and protection from mosquito-borne diseases in rural areas. Under this, a comprehensive cleanliness and sanitization campaign will be run in the gram panchayats of the entire state from March 2 to 4. CM Yogi has instructed the officers to keep a special eye on the cleanliness system regarding the festival. Under this, all DMs and CDOs will do monitoring.


Along with cleaning, fogging and anti-larva spraying is also done.


Under this campaign, works like cleaning, fogging, anti-larva spraying and waste disposal of program venues, ghats, ponds, nectar ponds and bathing places will be done in rural areas. Officials have been instructed to ensure special cleanliness at the event venues both before and after the Holikotsav.


Better drainage arrangements will be ensured


Director of Panchayati Raj Department, Amit Kumar Singh has said that after the completion of the program, all the waste materials should be properly disposed of. All garbage should be collected at the Rural Resource Center built in Gram Panchayats. It has been asked to identify waterlogged places and make drainage arrangements through permanent measures, so that diseases like dengue and malaria can be prevented.


Responsibility assigned to local gram panchayats


All district Panchayati Raj officers have been instructed to conduct special cleanliness drives. Apart from this, the responsibility of repairing, painting and security arrangements of ghats of rivers, ponds or lakes has also been entrusted to the local Gram Panchayats. This entire campaign will be continuously monitored.
