At least 15 people were killed after a powerful explosion ripped through an explosives manufacturing factory in Maharashtra’s Nagpur district on Sunday morning, police officials said.
The blast occurred at the facility operated by SBL Energy Limited, located in Raulgaon village of Katol tehsil. The company manufactures mining and industrial explosives.
According to a senior police official, the explosion caused severe damage within the premises and resulted in multiple casualties.
Company representatives told PTI that the incident took place at the detonator packing unit between 7 am and 7.15 am. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the blast.
