25-year-old Avinash Singh of Azamgarh started a digital library by taking a loan of Rs 5 lakh without guarantee under the CM Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan. By opening the second branch in one and a half years, they are now preparing for expansion in Prayagraj.

CM Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan: The objective of the Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (CM Yuva) run by the Uttar Pradesh government is to motivate the youth for self-employment. This scheme is giving good results at the ground level. 25 year old Avinash Singh from Azamgarh is an inspiring example of this scheme. Despite limited resources and family responsibilities, he started his own business by taking advantage of the government scheme and also provided employment to five youth.

Avinash Singh of Azamgarh: Journey from struggle to digital library

Avinash Singh completed his B.Sc Mathematics from Allahabad University. He is from an ordinary farmer family. The family consists of parents and five siblings. Being the elder son, the financial responsibility of the house was on his shoulders. Instead of looking for a job, he chose the path of entrepreneurship. In January 2025, he got information about Chief Minister Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign through online medium. After this he contacted the District Industries Center and submitted the necessary documents and applied. With the guidance of officials, his application was quickly approved.

Loan of Rs 5 lakh without guarantee: Financial assistance from State Bank of India

In February 2025, Avinash got a loan of Rs 5 lakh approved from State Bank of India. This loan was given without any guarantee and without mortgage. On February 21, Rs 2.57 lakh was deposited in his account as the first installment and after a week Rs 1.53 lakh was deposited in his account. Special relief was also given in interest under the scheme.

Modern facilities to students from 'Vidya Digital Library'

With the loan amount, Avinash started 'Vidya Digital Library' in Azamgarh. Here students get modern digital resources and calm environment for online studies. This initiative received good response from local students. At present he is earning more than Rs 30 thousand every month and is regularly depositing monthly installments of more than Rs 10 thousand.

Second branch started, preparation for expansion in Prayagraj

Encouraged by the success, Avinash also started the second digital library in Azamgarh within one and a half years. Now they are planning to open a third branch in Prayagraj by the middle of the year. Avinash says that if the youth work hard in the right direction and take advantage of government schemes, then it is possible to become self-reliant. He believes that this campaign is a big opportunity for the youth. Avinash's story proves that with the right guidance, government support and hard work, youth can strengthen their economic position and also create employment opportunities for others.
