
Pradosh Vrat Puja Method: Pradosh fast has been given special importance in Hindu religion. This fast is observed to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. According to the Panchang, the last Pradosh fast of Phalgun month is being observed on March 1, 2026. It is believed that by worshiping as per rituals on this day, life's problems go away, sins are destroyed and one gets blessings of happiness and prosperity. Pradosh Vrat is observed every month on the Trayodashi date of Shukla and Krishna Paksha. Pradosh means the time after sunset. This is the auspicious time when worshiping Lord Shiva is considered especially fruitful. Let us know with what method you should worship in the evening on this day so that there is happiness in your life.
On the day of Pradosh Vrat, take a resolution to fast from morning. Take bath in the evening before Pradosh Kaal and wear clean clothes. Purify the place of worship with Ganga water.
If there is a Shivalinga in the house, anoint it with water, milk, curd, honey and Ganga water. Keep chanting Om Namah Shivay mantra. If possible, you can also go to the temple and perform Abhishek.
Lord Shiva is very fond of Belpatra. Offer Belpatra with three leaves. Along with this, offer Dhatura, Aak flower and white flowers.
Light a ghee lamp in front of Shivling. Offer incense sticks and recite Shiva Chalisa or Rudrashtak.
After the puja, definitely listen or read Pradosh Vrat Katha. The fast is considered incomplete without listening to the story.
At last perform Aarti of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. Apologize for your mistakes and wish for the happiness and peace of the family.
Pradosh Kaal is considered to be from about 45 minutes before to 45 minutes after sunset. It is best to worship at this time.
According to the scriptures, during Pradosh period, Lord Shiva dances on Mount Kailash and the gods worship him. Lord Shiva is quickly pleased with the worship done at this time. It is believed that prayer done with a true heart on this day removes diseases, faults, debts and enemy obstacles.
