While some Premier League teams have been in European action this week, Manchester United have been able to take a watching brief. Weekend opponents Crystal Palace took on Zrinjski Mostar in the second leg of their Conference League play-off, leaving them with less rest going into their match at Old Trafford.
If Michael Carrick's side can take advantage and pick up three points, it would move them one step closer to a top-four finish. Closest challengers Chelsea and Liverpool will play either side of United, with Arne Slot's Reds hosting West Ham on Saturday and Liam Rosenior's Blues facing league leaders Arsenal in Sunday's later game.
Carrick's own future could rest on whether he can solidify the progress he has made so far. United have 16 points from a possible 18 under the interim boss and have seemingly benefited from fresh legs while rivals deal with a busier fixture list.
In today's round-up, our focus moves onto the summer transfer window and the moves the club will and won't be making. Here's the latest from around Old Trafford.

Onana request to be deniedManchester United have no intention of reintegrating goalkeeper Andre Onana next season, according to TeamTalk. The Cameroon international is currently on loan at Trabzonspor but is not expected to stay with the Turkish club beyond the end of the current campaign.
The club are said to be keen to get Onana's wages off the books, with Senne Lammens now established as the first-choice keeper at Old Trafford. Reports indicate they will reject Onana's request to prove himself back at Old Trafford and look to sell him on - even if that means taking a hit on the £47m they paid Inter Milan to sign him in 2023.
Mainoo contract risk
United remain at risk of allowing Kobbie Mainoo to enter the final year of his contract without an agreement in place to extend his deal. That's according to The Sun, who report that player and club have yet to reopen talks over a new deal.
Mainoo is understood to have rejected an offer from United towards the end of the 2024/25 season. He found minutes hard to come by under Ruben Amorim and was linked with a January exit, but has reestablished himself as a starter under Carrick.
United do still hold a one-year extension option on Mainoo's deal, which expires in the summer of 2027. However, they are said to still be planning talks over a longer deal for the academy graduate, even if talks with the player's representatives haven't been reopened after the standstill in 2025.
Ronaldo's new investmentFormer Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has made a 25 per cent investment in Spanish club Almeria through his CR7 Sports Investments venture. The club, who are majority owned by Saudi consortium SMC Group, are currently pushing for promotion to La Liga.
"It has been a longtime ambition of mine to contribute to football, beyond the pitch," the 41-year-old said in a statement. "UD Almeria is a Spanish club with strong foundations and clear potential for growth. I look forward to working alongside the leadership team to support the club's next phase of growth."
