Shetkari Karjmafi : The issue of farmer loan waiver is currently being discussed a lot and Baliraja hopes that a big announcement will be made for the farmers in the ongoing budget session of the state. The government has given 30th June 2026 as the final date for farmer loan waiver and for this a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Praveen Pardeshi. However, the opposition is alleging that no concrete steps have been taken by the government regarding the loan waiver. Against this backdrop, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis gave important information about farmers’ loan waiver while speaking in the Legislative Assembly.

Devendra Fadnavis said, we have formed a committee for farmer loan waiver. The report of this committee is expected. We will fulfill the promise given by the government in terms of loan waiver in due course. But if we look at some of the previous loan waivers, we noticed some things that the banks give wrong information about the accounts.

It has been pointed out that sometimes they withdraw money from the old account and take money from the government. To avoid this fraud we are creating 100% Agri stack. Now under Agristack, a digital record of 100 percent farmers’ land registration, Satbara Report, has been created. Fadnavis said that considering all such things, the government is trying to give loan waiver (Shetkari Karjmafi) to the really needy farmers.

Meanwhile, why has crop insurance system changed to one rupee? This was also explained by Devendra Fadnavis in the Legislative Assembly. Some people tried to get crop insurance in 3-4 places as they are getting crop insurance for one rupee. In Beed, even in those areas where there is no land, crop insurance was taken out. In this method you get 25% on the first trigger. The farmer thought that now I will get full payment. There was no second and third trigger. So it used to be 25 percent. So we changed this method and introduced a new method. Devendra Fadnavis informed that the farmers are being helped now.
