Nitin Gadkari announced comprehensive and concrete steps to reduce road accidents at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)'s National Conclave on Road Safety. He said that in case of an accident on National Highways, ambulances equipped with modern equipment and special rescue systems are being procured to ensure that they reach the spot within 20 minutes. He said that social consciousness and responsibility towards road safety is of utmost importance. Right from the school level, emphasis was laid on developing a sense of law abiding, discipline and respect for rules in children.
