The bat of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi seems to be on a mission to terrorize bowlers everywhere. At just 14, this prodigious talent continues to deliver jaw-dropping performances that defy age and expectation. After making waves in the IPL circuit and guiding India Under-19 to World Cup glory, Vaibhav is now sharpening his weapons ahead of IPL 2026—and in the process, he has once again stunned the cricketing world.
Playing his very first match in the DY Patil T20 Cup in Navi Mumbai, Vaibhav delivered an innings that felt unreal. Representing DY Patil Blue, the left-handed opener came out blazing after the Indian Navy posted a massive 219/4 while batting first.
The chase began with an early setback as Yash Dhull departed quickly, but that only cleared the stage for Vaibhav’s one-man show. What followed was pure carnage. The young batter smashed the Navy bowlers to all parts of the ground, racing to his half-century in just 14 balls. The moment he reached fifty—with a crisp boundary—Sarfaraz Khan, stuck on 6 off 4 balls at the other end, could only watch in disbelief as fours and sixes flew past him.
Vaibhav’s innings ended in the seventh over, but by then the damage was irreversible. He had blasted 63 runs off just 19 balls, hammering 12 boundaries—seven fours and five towering sixes. His strike rate of 331.58 wasn’t just impressive; it was outrageous, virtually deciding the match in the powerplay itself.
After Vaibhav set the tone, Arjun Tendulkar ensured there were no late stumbles. Arjun smashed an unbeaten 55 off 29 balls, while Anand Bais added a brisk 35*, guiding DY Patil Blue to a commanding victory. The target of 220 was chased down in just 19.1 overs, sealing a statement win.
One thing is clear: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi isn’t just knocking on the door of elite cricket—he’s kicking it down, boundary by boundary.
