Kobbie Mainoo has yet to be offered a new deal by Manchester United as they run the risk of losing TWO key midfielders. The Red Devils academy graduate has a contract until the summer of 2027.

But he has seen his future at Old Trafford called into question over recent seasons. Mainoo turned down an offer of a new deal just over a year ago, while he also requested to leave the club on loan, having seen his opportunities dwindle under former boss Ruben Amorim.

Despite having re-established himself in the side under Michael Carrick, talks over an extended deal are reportedly at a standstill. According to The Sun, club chiefs are yet to formally reopen discussions over a new contract.

Mainoo, 20, remains keen to stay with the club, having made 92 appearances for the side since breaking through into the first-team during the 2022/23 season. United will also be desperate to keep him, given fellow midfielder Casemiro has already announced that he will be leaving the club this summer.

There was an option to extend his deal by a further campaign but United have confirmed that option would not be activated. That decision has given the 34-year-old plenty of time to consider his next steps.

MLS is already an option for Casemiro, having holidayed in Florida and flown to Miami earlier this month. His wife Ana was also in Las Vegas.

And while a switch to the United States could be on the cards, the Brazilian is also considering staying in Europe. Casemiro still has a house in Madrid, while sources have suggested that a switch to Serie A might be another option.

Should he do that, he would follow in the footsteps of former Real Madrid teammate Luka Modric, who joined AC Milan at the start of the season.

"I will carry Manchester United with me throughout my entire life," Casemiro said upon his exit from the club being confirmed. “From the first day that I walked out at this beautiful stadium, I felt the passion of Old Trafford and the love that I now share with our supporters for this special club.

“It is not time to say goodbye; there are many more memories to create during the next four months. We still have a lot to fight for together; my complete focus will, as always, remain on giving my everything to help our club to succeed.”

Regardless of both Casemiro and Mainoo’s futures, the Red Devils are still considering moving for a new midfielder this summer.
