A man forked out more than £10,000 on a plane ticket to enjoy a "six hour journey of a lifetime" and has shared his honest thoughts - and whether the eye-watering price tag was really worth it.

First class air travel is notoriously expensive, often reserved for the wealthy. But travel influencer Antoine decided to give it a go aboard Singapore Airlines, snapping up a ticket for a first class suite which came complete with a luxury bed, a separate reclining leather armchair, sliding doors for "total privacy", extensive storage, "exceptional" food designed by "five renowned chefs", and more.

The content creator filmed his experience, offering a detailed insight into the flight and what the ticket price gave him, and shared it to YouTube where it has - so far - amassed more than 80,000 views.

To begin, he was shown to his private suite where he was given a travel kit complete with skincare and beauty products and a set of pyjamas by luxury French retailer, Lalique. The brand is known for its high end crystal, furniture, jewellery and perfumes.

Antoine was also given a pair of Bang & Olufsen headphones, which he said retail for $500 (£370).

After that, he perused the "thick" menu, which detailed the dishes curated by five chefs, as well as an extensive Champagne collection.

He felt "overwhelmed" by the menu, so a member of the cabin crew came back to his suite to take him through it "page by page", which helped him choose his options for dinner.

Throughout the flight, Antoine indulged in crystal champagne, warm nuts, caviar and more. When it was time for dinner, he observed it felt like being "at a fancy restaurant".

He selected bread from a host of options to accompany his first course, and enjoyed more crystal Champagne.

Antoine then indulged in smoked salmon, scallops and couscous, in addition to cream of asparagus soup, and a main course of "crispy lamb chops". His "wonderful" meal was "finished off with an espresso and a hot towel".

In the swanky suite, he "had so much space" that he was able to unpack his "whole bag". Later, Antoine was guided to a bathroom which felt "like a spa at 30K feet", where he was able to change into the provided Lalique pyjamas, socks and slippers.

Upon returning to his suite, the crew had arranged his bed so he could get some rest. In the caption of his video, Antoine branded his suite a "private hotel room in the sky".

Summing up his experience in text written over the top of the footage, he said: "In my opinion, this was probably the best flight experience of my life. While the price tag is high, the service and quality of Singapore Airlines lives up to the hype. I highly recommend it."

In the caption, he added: "If there is a true First Class throne in the sky, this is definitely it."

In the comments section, fellow YouTube users were keen to share their thoughts. One person said: "Truly awesome experience. Did it London to Sydney 3 years ago with my wife on Valentine's Day. Very romantic. Heading off to do it again in late February."

Another said: "Wow, I would pick the longest possible non-stop route to ensure I was in that suite for a while. I only eat once or twice a day and do not drink, but it would still be worth it."

A third said: "Caviar service on Singapore Airlines A380 is a pioneer". A fourth commented: "Worth every penny".

Someone else was less impressed and said: "I mean for 13,000$ you expect a bit more but very nice indeed". And another added: "90% of that stuff I wouldn't even use!"

Canadian native Antoine, who now lives in Dubai, spent $13,980 (£10,348) on his first class plane ticket aboard Singapore Airlines A380.
