Tokyo, 25 February. With a resolve to make Uttar Pradesh the hub of the future economy, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday made a strong start to the global investment dialogue on the first day of his two-day visit to Japan. After reaching the capital Tokyo, CM Yogi met the management of Japan’s leading global trading and investment company Mitsui & Company Limited and extended a formal invitation to explore transformative investment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh.

During the meeting, CM Yogi specifically underlined the investment possibilities in four key areas, which include solar, bio-energy, green hydrogen and energy storage projects under renewable energy. On the other hand, under ICT (Information and Communication Technology), investment in IT park, electronics manufacturing, digital services and startup ecosystem was discussed.

The third sector was semiconductor, in which chip manufacturing and expansion of electronics value chain were prominent. The fourth sector was data centre, in which in-depth discussions were held regarding investment in areas like hyper-scale data centre, cloud infrastructure and digital connectivity hub.

Inviting Mitsui management for long-term partnership, the Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh is fully committed to strengthening India-Japan economic cooperation at the grassroots level. He said that Uttar Pradesh, being the largest consumer market in the country, provides an extremely favorable environment for investors due to excellent connectivity, dedicated freight corridors, expressway network and rapidly growing industrial clusters.

Referring to the state government’s pro-industry policies, single window clearance system and time-bound approval process, CM Yogi assured that Uttar Pradesh provides a safe, transparent and result-oriented environment to investors.

Earlier, CM Yogi was given a grand welcome in Tokyo. This visit is the first visit of the Chief Minister to Japan as part of the two-nation tour, which is an important achievement reflecting the growing strategic and cultural ties between India and Japan.
