Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has announced a great opportunity for school students across the country. If you study in 9th class and have keen interest in space science, rocket and technology, then this news is for you. ISRO has started the application process for its famous ‘Young Scientist Programme’ (YUVIKA) 2026.
This program is a unique platform to connect young talents directly with the world of science. Under this, the selected students will get a chance to work with top scientists of ISRO and understand the intricacies of space missions. The last date to apply has been fixed as 27 February 2026.
ISRO’s YUVIKA (Young Scientist Programme) is a special initiative designed to impart basic knowledge on space technology, space science and its applications to school children. Its main objective is to take students beyond bookish knowledge and make them experience the real scientific environment. During the programme, students will visit various ISRO centres, see state-of-the-art laboratories and interact directly with top scientists of the country.
ISRO has laid down a transparent process for selection, in which importance is given to academic performance as well as other activities.

ISRO will also ensure that students from every state and union territory are represented.
This program is completely free. The entire accommodation, food and travel expenses of the selected students will be borne by ISRO. They will also be given traveling allowance to and from ISRO centres. This is to ensure that no financial burden falls on any student. Students will also be taught practical information about space science as well as how rockets are built and satellites work.
