New Delhi: Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) unveiled their new logo ahead of the new season on Tuesday, February 24. The Rishabh Pant-led side will head into the upcoming season with a new identity. LSG have revamped their logo and also moved away from the blue motif to a reddish hue theme.

LSG’s new logo features three major elements – Garuda, the Elephant and the crown. Garuda is a divine bird of eagle-human hybrid, which is considered the vahana of Lord Vishnu in Hindu and Buddhist mythology. The Garuda symbolises courage, power and speed. The Elephant symbolises strength and wisdom, while the crown symbolises pride and prosperity.

“This new logo is deeply emotional for us. The people of Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh welcomed the Super Giants into their hearts from day one. This symbol is a tribute to that love and belief. Garuda reflects our dreams to rise higher. The Crown reflects the pride you place on us every time we take the field. And the Elephant reflects the strength and loyalty that defines this region,” said Shashwat Goenka, son of LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka and the vice-chairman of the RPSG Group.

LSG made six signings at the IPL 2026 auction

Lucknow Super Giants were one of the least busy sides at the IPL 2026 auction in Abu Dhabi last year, having retained a majority of their squad. LSG, who roped in senior Indian pacer Mohammed Shami in a trade deal from Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the auction, made only six signings in Abu Dhabi.

They spent big on Australian wicket-keeper batter Josh Inglis, roping him in for Rs 8.6 crore despite availability issues. They also bought Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga for Rs 2 crore and South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje for Rs 2 crore. LSG roped in three uncapped Indian talents – Mukul Choudhary, Akshat Raghuwanshi and Naman Tiwari at the auction.

LSG endured a poor season and failed to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2025 after a disastrous campaign for their skipper, Pant, who managed only 269 runs in 14 matches last season. LSG have some big names in their squad in the form of Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Pant and Mitchell Marsh. They will be hoping to make it to the playoffs in IPL 2026 and challenge for the title.
