UP Teachers Cashless Treatment: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has announced a cashless medical facility, offering a significant boost to thousands of families associated with the state’s education sector. Under this revolutionary decision, government teachers and education department employees in Uttar Pradesh will no longer need to spend their savings to treat serious illnesses.
The government has provided free treatment up to ₹5 lakh per family annually, available at directly listed government and private hospitals. The primary objective of this scheme is to relieve teachers of financial stress and provide them with better health security. If you are also part of the Uttar Pradesh Education Department, this article may prove to be a health shield for you.
This new initiative by the Uttar Pradesh government is a boon for secondary and primary teachers in the state who often face financial hardship due to hefty medical bills during serious illnesses or surgeries. Under this scheme, eligible teachers and employees will be issued a special health card, allowing them to receive treatment without paying cash.
This entire process will work along the lines of the central government’s Ayushman Bharat scheme, where hospital bills will be settled directly by the government and the insurance provider. The biggest advantage is that middle-class teacher families will no longer have to scramble to arrange for funds during hospitalization. The government has clarified that this facility will be available to all teachers who meet the eligibility criteria set by the department.
To avail of this scheme, teachers will have to go through a systematic verification process, in which certain basic documents will play a crucial role. Aadhaar card will be required for identity and address verification, while the departmental identity card will be considered proof of your current posting in the education department.
Additionally, you will need to have your service certificate and official appointment documents ready, as the district-level committee will verify your eligibility based on these. Experts advise teachers to update their departmental records and mobile numbers linked to their bank accounts now to avoid any technical difficulties when it comes time to generate the digital card.

To ensure transparency in the scheme, a high-powered committee will be formed in each district. The District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) for secondary education and the District Basic Education Officer (BSA) for primary education will head this committee. This committee will closely verify the applications and documents submitted by teachers. Once the committee approves your eligibility, your name will be updated on the official portal.
The teacher will then be issued a digital or physical approval card, which can be presented at the hospital to initiate cashless treatment. Experts recommend that all teachers update their service records now to avoid any technical glitches in the card-making process.
