Liverpool boss Arne Slot has previously spelt out why Manchester United could be making a big mistake selling Marcus Rashford. The 28-year-old joined Barcelona on loan in the summer after falling out of favour under ex-United manager Ruben Amorim.
The striker has flourished in Catalonia, scoring 10 times and registering 13 assists across 34 games. However, Slot's comments came during Rashford'sprevious loan spell at Aston Villa last season.

As Liverpool were preparing to face Villa in February 2025, Slot praised the England forward. He noted that Rashford had two primary attributes that impressed him the most: speed and composure on the ball.
"I know Marcus Rashford as I follow the Premier League," Slot said. "The first time I faced him was on the USA tour and was really impressed with how fast he is and comfortable on the ball. I'd be completely surprised if a player of that quality isn't going to show that in upcoming months. He is a very good player."
United are currently under the stewardship of Michael Carrick, and it's unclear whether whoever takes over the reins in the summer will want Rashford in their squad. Reports suggest that the Red Devils are still intent on selling the player despite his improved performances.

The deal struck between United and Barcelona reportedly includes an option for the Spanish giants to buy Rashford for around £26million.
However, United are said to be having second thoughts about that agreement, with Rashford's improved performances having driven up his market value.
It has also been claimed that United are not prepared to lower the £26m option fee, despite suggestions that Barcelona are hoping to renegotiate. The England international has openly expressed his intention to stay at the Camp Nou beyond the current campaign, perhaps making it hard for United to recall Rashford should they wish.
In an interview with Barca's YouTube channel from late 2025, Rashford revealed he's loving life in Spain. He said: "I'm really enjoying my time in Spain. The weather is the best part. It's a very big change. I'm learning every day, I'm really enjoying it.
"The team is fantastic. I just have to be in the right position. I'll keep trying to do this. We have to keep going like this to be our best. We have a lot more to do this season."
He continued: "I'm enjoying this football club, and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game, so to play here is an honour.
"I just believe that things happen when they're supposed to happen. It's not the first time I spoke with Barcelona about potentially coming here, but for whatever reason, it didn't happen in the past, and now is my opportunity to make it happen.

"I feel like there's no time like the present now. People forget this, but 23 years of my life was with Manchester United. So sometimes you just need a change.
"I think maybe this is the case with me and yeah, I'm enjoying everything. I don't feel there is much change in me, I just feel it's a new environment and culture and one I looked forward to coming here. It's just about me adapting and fitting in as well as possible. I'm so hungry to keep improving."
