A game show with a unique format is making a highly anticipated return for its third series, featuring an even larger roster of celebrities prepared to put their knowledge to the test.
Just months after the conclusion of its second run, it has been announced that Romesh Ranganathan's Parents' Evening will be back on ITV and ITVX.
The deadpan comedian and actor will once again present the programme alongside his mother Shanthi, who relishes every opportunity to poke fun at her son.
What makes this particularly exciting is that series three will be the biggest instalment yet, comprising six episodes plus a festive special.
Whilst an official launch date hasn't been revealed, it's expected to arrive towards the latter part of the year.
Unlike other conventional game shows, success doesn't depend on contestants' knowledge but rather on what their parents believe they know, as celebrities team up with their mums and dads.
Parents not only select the questions for their famous offspring but must also predict whether they'll answer correctly.
Meeting these expectations earns the team money, whilst falling short means the prize is divided amongst rival teams.
The team with the highest earnings proceeds to the final round, where they have the chance to double their winnings for their selected charity.
The second series featured well-known personalities such as Pete Wicks, Jo Brand, Tom Allen, Fleur East and Sophie Ellis-Bextor amongst others, so who will take part in the third instalment?
Reacting to the announcement, Romesh Ranganathan said: "I love this show so much and am delighted people are enjoying it enough that we're doing it again.
"I can confirm that Mum will be joining once again following an email from ITV that said something like, 'You need to recognise she's the main draw.'"
ITV's entertainment commissioner Joe Mace commented: "Between Romesh, Shanthi and the incredible guests, this series is always jam-packed with laughs.
"I'm so pleased to be doing more and I can't wait to see what funny revelations come to light this time around."
Romesh Ranganathan's Parents' Evening returns for season three on ITV and ITVX later this year.
