A beloved farm shop at Tebay Services on the M6, in Cumbria, has revealed temporary closures throughout February as the business carries out improvements to the premises. Tebay Services is a firm favourite amongst motorists, who will regrettably see the Westmorland Farmshop and Kitchen "closing briefly" this month, including Tuesday, February 24.

The shop and kitchen at the Tebay Services might be shutting for an extended period as a four-year motorway closure scheme is under consideration. National Highways has stated that shutting Junction 38 of the M6 is essential to enable the replacement of eight bridges.

Yet, Tim Farron, the Liberal Democrats MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale, claimed the closure "could be the killing of many shops".

"This extent of disruption will be huge. There's been absolutely zero consultation or thought about mitigation or any kind of reaching out," reports the Express.

Tebay Services said: "If you are still passing by, our Filling Stations and Kitchen/Food Hall will remain open as usual. Head to our website for their opening hours.

"Thanks for bearing with us while we get everything set up properly. If we can re-open our Farmshops earlier, we will. Safe travels, and we'll see you soon!"

Another business that operates a petrol station on the A37, SRT Petroleum, is due to enter liquidation in April. Whilst the firm will shut down, the petrol station is anticipated to stay open.

The service station, situated between Dorchester and Bristol, boasts a Greggs, Costa Express, Budgens and a 24-hour off-licence.

Daniel Harrison, from Bridgewood Financial Solutions, confirmed: "I can confirm the company ceased trading in January this year following increases in rent and other costs, as well as a reduction in trade.

"The director is taking steps to realise the company's remaining assets before taking it into voluntary liquidation.

"My firm Bridgewood are assisting with this and expect the company to enter liquidation in April."
