Bharat GI Tag Coffee : Tech giants from all over the world have come to the AI ​​Impact Summit event going on at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. At the summit, Google CEO Sundar Pichai tasted Bharat GI Coffee at the Bharat GI Coffee Lounge. A video of Pichai sipping Monsoon Malabar Coffee and saying ‘wow’ in praise of it has gone viral on social media. This Coffee Lounge is part of the India GI initiative, which aims to promote Geographical Indication (GIP) products of India.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has shared the video of Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai drinking coffee at Bharat GI stall with his X handle. After this, Bharat GI also shared this video with his X handle. While sharing the video of Sundar Pichai drinking coffee, Piyush Goyal has written that when Sundar Pichai would have taken a sip of this coffee with Bharat GI tag, he would have felt that it is really worth it. The world is enjoying India GI Coffee at AI Impact Summit.

The Government of India has launched a new national initiative named ‘Bharat GI’. Its objective is that India’s Geographical Indication (GI) tagged products get recognition across the world. It has been placed under DPIIT i.e. Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.

GI tag means that a product is identified by its geographical origin, farming process and test quality. This includes coffee, tea, spices or handicrafts from a particular region. It is not limited to just coffee.
