The West Indies are looking for an undefeated group stage as they face Italy today at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. However, the West Indies's journey is not that simple, as Italy is giving them trouble, despite occasional hitting. In the sixteenth over, right after taking a stunning catch, Crishan Kalugamage came and broke the stumps of Shai Hope, who was leading the side with his bat, scoring 75.
Kalugamage hurried Shai Hope with a fast, full delivery angled in. Hope dropped to one knee for the hard sweep, missed completely, and the ball crashed into the stumps as Kalugamage broke into his trademark celebration.

Italy's catching has been spectacular throughout. One such was Kalugamage's; in the fifteenth over, Rovman Powell went for a biggy, only to be caught by him.
Ben Manenti was the bowler who gave a length delivery to Powel, and he tried to hit with the toe end of the bat, staying in the crease. Kalugamage, who was initially a track and field athlete, had to run to his right from the deep-backward square before getting the catch and gliding down.
In that process, he might have hurt his finger a bit and taken some medications. Despite that, he came and took two wickets, including Hope's
The other hilarious fielding save from Kalugamage's side was when he literally glided in and kicked the ball away from the boundary. Yes, it did frustrate Ali Hasan, but it shaved 2 runs for the Italian team.
West Indies posted 165 on the board, losing 6
West Indies posted a competitive 165/6 in their allotted 20 overs, riding largely on skipper Shai Hope’s commanding 75 off 46 balls. The innings began shakily with Brandon King and Shimron Hetmyer falling early, leaving West Indies 31/2 inside five overs. Hope then anchored the innings, mixing control with aggression, while Roston Chase added 24 but failed to accelerate fully.
The middle overs saw regular strikes as Ben Manenti picked up two key wickets, removing Chase and Rovman Powell. The decisive moment came when Crishan Kalugamage hurried Hope with a fast, full delivery to bowl him for 75, triggering a brief collapse from 113/4 to 115/5.
Late runs from Sherfane Rutherford (24* off 15) and Matthew Forde (16* off 8) pushed the total beyond 160. Kalugamage finished as the standout bowler with 2/25 at 6.25.
