New Delhi: Tata Motors is set to update its most affordable electric SUV, the Tata Punch EV, with a facelift that will be revealed tomorrow. The electric Punch has been on sale for a little over two years, and this is its first major update. The move comes soon after the petrol and CNG version of the Punch received changes, and Tata now wants both models to look similar.
The entry-level EV space is becoming more competitive, with more options for buyers. This update is aimed at keeping the Punch EV fresh in the market. While full details are yet to be officially shared, several changes have already been confirmed or reported.

Tata Punch EV facelift body
Tata has shown the exterior of the facelifted Punch EV ahead of its launch. The front bumper has been redesigned and now gets a closed grille. The earlier black strip that connected the headlamps has been removed, giving the front a simpler look. The lower scuff plate has also been slightly updated.
The Y-shaped LED daytime running lamps remain the same, and the charging flap continues to be placed at the centre of the nose. The SUV now gets new aero-style alloy wheels, similar in design to those seen on the Tata Nexon EV. Tata has also confirmed new colour options, including a yellow shade similar to ‘Sunlit Yellow’ seen on the Harrier, and a metallic copper colour with a black roof.
At the rear, the facelifted model now features connected LED tail-lamps, matching the updated ICE Punch.
Inside, the basic dashboard layout is expected to stay the same. However, new interior colour themes and trim finishes are likely. Higher variants are expected to get a bigger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with updated software, replacing the current 10.25-inch unit.
A Level 2 ADAS package may also be added to improve safety. Other features such as the 10.25-inch digital driver display, wireless charger, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, connected car tech and 360-degree camera are expected to continue.
A bigger battery pack is expected to be the main mechanical update. Tata has confirmed a higher-capacity option but has not shared exact figures yet.
The existing 25kWh and 35kWh battery packs are expected to continue. The 25kWh version produces 82hp and 114Nm, with a claimed range of 265km. The 35kWh version makes 122hp and 190Nm, and is rated at up to 365km. These range figures may change slightly after the update.
The facelifted Punch EV will continue to compete with the Citroen eC3. Prices are expected to see a small increase over the current range of Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 14.44 lakh (ex-showroom).
