GT captain Shubman Gill after he did not receive T20 World Cup 2026 selection now devotes his attention to IPL 2026 which starts on March 26. Sai Sudharsan who missed most of the Indian domestic season because of injury returned to join him after he began his training sessions.
The team started their training camp at Miraj International Stadium in Nathdwara with 40 days remaining before their upcoming season. The team practice session included a senior fast bowler who participated while head coach Ashish Nehra observed the entire training. GT achieved a successful IPL 2025 season which earned them third position on the points table.
Sai Sudharsan claimed the Orange Cap with 759 runs, while Prasidh Krishna grabbed the Purple Cap after picking up 25 wickets. The team which currently holds one IPL title will attempt to win their second championship this season.
At the IPL Auction 2026, the franchise strengthened its squad by signing Jason Holder, Luke Wood, and Tom Banton. The team maintained its core players by keeping Rashid Khan, Jos Buttler, and Kagiso Rabada.
