A post-match brawl broke out following the conclusion of Arsenal's Premier League clash against Wolves at Molineux. The hosts scored a last-minute equaliser and with tensions rising, both sets of players needed to be separated at full-time.

The incident appeared to be sparked after Gabriel Jesus shoved Yerson Mosquera to the ground with Mikel Arteta among those sprinting onto the pitch in an attempt to stop things escalating.

The Brazil international was quickly booked for his reaction with several other Arsenal stars rushing over to get him away from the situation.

Riccardo Calafiori was the player first on the scene that got Jesus away from the frustrated Wolves players, after the Italy international was just unable to stop Tom Edozie's last-minute equaliser on the line.

He had come on for the injured Leandro Trossard with minutes to spare, and though he looked to have blocked Tom Edozie's effort on the line, the ball struck the post and came back off him before nestling in the back of the net.

Hugo Bueno had halved the deficit earlier in the clash with goals from Bukayo Saka and Piero Hincapie initially putting Mikel Arteta's side in complete control.

The former was also forced off with a potential issue, and ahead of the North London Derby against Tottenham, that will be a concern for Arteta.

Arsenal are now five points above Manchester City in the Premier League table but the title is no longer just in their hands. That is because if Pep Guardiola's side manage to win all their remaining games, they will win the league.

City's game in hand over the Gunners is against Crystal Palace, and with Arsenal still to visit Etihad Stadium, the team currently in second place could now be title favourites and that is seemingly the belief of Paul Merson.

After the draw, he said on Sky Sports: "If Man City win all their games now on, they win the league. It's disappointing.

"You can't play in second gear. When Wolves went to 2-2, there was an urgency. They didn't have that before. You can't play like that. Every game is a cup final to the end.

"You've got to play at a high tempo. If Arsenal play at a high tempo, Wolves can't live with them. But to play the way they played, and it's slow and lazy, and they are giving the ball away, then Wolves are always going to be in the game. That could come back to bite them. That is really, really disappointing tonight."

It is the second consecutive midweek where Arsenal have dropped points with a 1-1 draw against Brentford coming six days earlier.
