In a major push toward Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of turning Uttar Pradesh into a one-trillion-dollar economy, the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission has launched a dedicated ‘Kaushal Connect Cell’ to link trained youth directly with industry requirements.

The newly formed cell aims to ensure that large industries investing in the state receive skilled manpower tailored to their specific needs. It has been created to facilitate seamless coordination between Invest UP and the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission.

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Kapil Dev Agarwal, said that SpeedUp PMU has been engaged to fast-track training and employment processes under the Mission. Through the Kaushal Connect Cell, the PMU will maintain real-time coordination with investors to align training programs with industry demands.

Real-Time Tracking and Industry Coordination

The Kaushal Connect Cell will function beyond administrative duties. It will:

  • Monitor approved investment projects daily in coordination with Invest UP.

  • Create a district-wise database of incoming investments.

  • Map sector-specific manpower demand across industries such as automobile, IT, textiles and others.

  • Coordinate with HR departments of investing companies.

  • Facilitate employment for trained youth through training partners as per market needs.

Mission Director Pulkit Khare stated that the Mission currently offers training in nearly 35 sectors and over 1,300 job roles. With the activation of the Kaushal Connect Cell, the gap between skill training and industry demand is expected to narrow significantly, enabling local youth to find employment within their own districts. The order has come into immediate effect.

Dedicated Nodal Officers Appointed

To streamline operations, both departments have appointed Single Points of Contact (SPOCs). From Invest UP, Omair Shahid will serve as Team Leader and SPOC. From the Skill Development Mission, the cell will be chaired by Dr. Pavitra Tandon, Assistant Director, with Atul Kumar Singh designated as SPOC and supported by Dhananjay Kumar Dwivedi and Jyoti Srivastava.

The state government believes the initiative will strengthen ease of doing business while accelerating Uttar Pradesh’s transformation into a true ‘Skill Hub’.
