The announcement, posted on Activision's support site, doesn't come as a shock. The publisher pulled Warzone Mobile from the App Store and Google Play back in May 2025 and stopped all new content updates at the time. Players haven't been able to buy COD Points or BlackCell subscriptions since then either.

In its FAQ, Activision was candid about why the plug is being pulled. "It unfortunately did not meet our expectations with mobile-first players like it has with PC and console audiences," the company said.

The numbers back that up. Warzone Mobile's revenue dropped from a peak of around $4 million in April 2024 to roughly $500,000 by late 2024, per Statista data. Meanwhile, the older Call of Duty: Mobile still pulls in over $20 million a month — a gap too wide to justify keeping both games alive.
What happens to COD Points and progress? If you still have Warzone Mobile installed, Activision recommends spending any remaining COD Points before April 17 — they won't carry over once servers go dark. Guest account users will lose access entirely, while those with Activision accounts can still use them across Call of Duty: Mobile and the PC/console versions of Warzone.

Speaking of Call of Duty: Mobile, it's very much alive. Season 2 just dropped this month with a new battle pass, fresh maps, and a battle royale mode that should feel familiar to Warzone fans.

Warzone Mobile launched to over 50 million pre-registrations but struggled to match the quick-session gameplay that mobile audiences clearly prefer. Its 20-30 minute matches simply didn't fit how most people game on their phones.
