Hockey India has revealed a 24-member squad for the Indian Men's Hockey Team, gearing up for the Hobart segment of the FIH Men's Pro League 2025-26. This event is scheduled to occur from February 20 to 25 at the Tasmania Hockey Centre in Hobart.

In this upcoming tournament, India will compete against Spain and the host nation, Australia, promising thrilling and competitive hockey matches. After the Rourkela leg, where the team faced Belgium and Argentina, they are now focused on the Hobart leg.

Leadership and Young Talent

The squad features a blend of seasoned players and promising newcomers as they aim to enhance their performance. Hardik Singh, a two-time Olympic Bronze Medalist from Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, will captain the team. Notable young talents like Amandeep Lakra and Manmeet Singh, who debuted during the Rourkela leg, are also included. However, Harmanpreet Singh will miss this leg due to personal commitments.

Team Composition

The goalkeeping duties will be shared by Suraj Karkera and Mohith Honnenahalli Shashikumar. The defensive lineup includes experienced players such as Amit Rohidas, Jarmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh, Sanjay, and Sumit, along with young talents like Amandeep Lakra, Yashdeep Siwach, and Poovanna Chandura Boby.

In the midfield, Hardik Singh will be supported by Sanjay, Vivek Sagar Prasad, and Raj Kumar Pal, alongside Rajinder Singh, Manmeet Singh, Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh, and Vishnu Kant Singh.

The forward line will feature established players like Mandeep Singh, Abhishek, and Shilanand Lakra. Maninder Singh returns to the squad after participating in the Hero Asia Cup 2022, while Angad Bir Singh, who debuted last year, will join for his first international tour. Youngsters Araijeet Singh Hundal and Aditya Arjun Lalage complete the attacking unit.

Goals for Upcoming Tournaments

The Hobart leg of the FIH Men's Pro League 2025-26 presents an opportunity for the team to regroup and prepare for the Men's FIH Hockey World Cup and Asian Games later this year.

Craig Fulton, the Chief Coach of the Indian Men's Hockey Team, commented on the squad, stating, "After a challenging four matches in Rourkela, where we faced setbacks, we've gained valuable insights and made significant improvements. We introduced three new players, which was exciting for the squad's development.
