I was a Slimming World member before, and despite its critics, I see the appeal. I think if you stick to the guidelines, it will work. I think Slimming World meals and snacks are a great way to watch your calorie intake while also keeping an eye on getting plenty of protein and veg, even if you are not following their lifestyle plan.
But what if you are in a hurry and you don't have time to whip up a Slimming World-friendly lunch? Well, that is where the Iceland frozen range can help busy people stick to their diet goals. The healthy lifestyle andweight-loss organisation has put its name to a wide variety of products aimed at helping its members and non-members eat balanced meals, but do they taste good?
I was sent some of the range to try out, and having liked some of their products in the past (the Slimming World Cottage Pie is delicious), I was more than happy to tuck in.
However, there were some disappointments for me this time around, and a couple I would certainly not recommend. To save you money, here is my ranking, from worst to best, of the products I tasted.

While this was easy to cook, unfortunately, the broth is flavourless and watery. I love mushrooms, but these were slimy and lacked any kind of seasoning. And to top it off, the chicken was also tasteless. Slimming World needs to go back to the drawing board with this one; it wasn't good. 1/10
When you know the principles around Slimming World, you can see why cauliflower cheese would work so well with the plan. You are better off making your own; however, this frozen version is lacking.
The sauce is way too watery and sour, perhaps because of the sharp cheddar used. And you don't get enough cauliflower, in my opinion, to warrant it being a portion. This may have been nicer if I had cooked it in the oven instead of the microwave, but the box does say you can microwave it, so the product should still be edible. 2/10
This did not look appealing, but the sauce had a nice flavour; it had a ginger note with sweet backnotes.
But the beef was too mushy, and the vegetables were too large for my taste, especially since the peppers were quite bitter, so it sort of took away from the nice sauce. 4/10
I really wanted to like these; however, if you are a fan of sausages, you are going to be disappointed. While they are easy to cook (I did mine in the air fryer) and edible, eating these will make you feel like you are on a diet.
The texture is of a cheap sausage, the lack of fat makes it dry and chewy, and this impacts the flavour. I couldn't taste the caramelised onion, and the seasoning was lacking in general. 5/10
With a good sprinkle of cheese and a slice of garlic bread, this would be a fantastic, easy lunch. I know that is not the point of Slimming World, but the calories you save with the pasta can go to the cheese.
I would say there is a lot of sauce compared to pasta noodles, but that's where garlic bread could come in handy. I make a lot of bolognese, and this is nothing compared to mine, but it does have a nice hint of oregano and is packed with secret veg. 7/10
These pancakes were a complete surprise to me. Firstly, if you have ever tried to make one of those "healthier" pancakes, you will know how disappointing they are.
But these were lovely. I just popped them in the toaster, and it made for a super simple breakfast. The toaster gave them a nice crust that contrasted with the fluffiness inside, and they are a good size.
There was a really nice maple flavour, and they would be perfect on a lazy Sunday morning with the toppings of your choice. 9/10
Again, like the maple pancakes, these were great and so easy to grab and go when you are in a rush. Or you could have one as a snack or light lunch.
The blueberry flavour was nice and fresh, something I don't always put in homemade pancakes, so I was very happy with this addition and would get these again. 10/10
