A woman says her family are 'preparing for the worst' following a devastating medicaldiagnosis just months before she was set to get her "happily ever after".

Keira Morrison, 30, has been with her partner Liam Bridgeman for seven years and is stepmum to his children - Miley, 15, and Liam, 10. The pair were due to get marriedthis summer, but now, the family have "prepared [themselves] for the worst".

She said she went to hospital more than a year ago after first noticing symptoms, but has only just found out what is really going on. Keira received a lymphoma diagnosis - a form of blood cancer - on February 10.

• 'I thought I was stressed moving house before they gave me six months to live'

Keira's partner Liam Bridgeman, 33, told the Liverpool ECHO: "Keira's brought my two kids up after their mother passed away in 2017 and she's been in their lives since they were young. We're a really close knit family. We have over 30,000 followers on our TikTok because we've tried to help our city on multiple occasions.

"This Christmas we delivered over 30 roast dinners to families that couldn't afford one and that was whilst Keira was feeling really sick. She still got out and did it because she didn't want people going hungry on Christmas Day. That's just the type of person she is and I think the whole of Liverpool will get behind her because she's just got a heart of gold who'd do anything for anyone."

Keira explained she first sought medical attention over a year ago after discovering a lump on her neck and developing leg pain. She also found that drinking alcohol would cause her face to swell up and turn red. She said: "Everything I was saying was put down to things like high blood pressure but I went back to the doctors again before Christmas because I was just feeling so unwell and I had two lumps on my neck by that point.

"I was put on a waiting list for a scan. I went back to the doctors for a third time because I was feeling so ill and I saw a different doctor. He immediately told me he wasn't happy with me waiting until March for a scan and put me on a two week pathway. ".

Keira was then referred to a head and neck specialist at Aintree Hospital, where she subsequently underwent an MRI, biopsy and ultrasound. Keira recalled: "The specialist felt my neck and saw that it was riddled with lumps. He said with all my symptoms it's definitely lymphoma.

"At first there were only two lumps but I can feel up to eight now and the specialist said there's loads more than that in places I can't even feel them. After I had my MRI scan I was told it's urgent that I get a PET scan to see what stage I'm at because it's obviously not benign."

Along with enduring stomach and leg pain, Keira has shed two stone within just four weeks and has been sleeping as much as 20 hours per day in total. She revealed she would never have even examined her neck had it not been for her dog, Arlo, who kept sniffing a particular spot on her neck. She added: "We have prepared ourselves for the worst because of how long it's been going on. I felt as if I was finally going to get my happily ever after because I was supposed to be getting married in June.

"Our kids are at an age where they do understand stuff so we had to sit them down and tell them. It was really hard because they lost a mum at a young age and now they see me as their mum so going through that and then now being told they might lose another mum is heartbreaking."

She's been sharing her diagnosis journey across social media in a bid to highlight the warning signs, having never encountered lymphoma until her own diagnosis. She explained: "Loads of people have messaged to tell me they're going to get checked. I'm so angry with the world right now that this has happened.

"A few days before I got diagnosed I'd been trying my wedding dress on because I was trying to stay as positive as possible. If I can help others by raising awareness and if someone comes to me and tells me they've been diagnosed because of my video I know that I possibly could have saved someone from going through what I've gone through."

Bekah Smith, 36, from Kirkby, connected with Keira through social media and calls her "one of Liverpool's angels". She remarked: "Over the years she has consistently gone above and beyond for people she has never even met. From fundraising efforts including a skydive for little Sienna Rose's recovery, to personally providing Christmas dinners for single parents in our community, she has always been the first to show up when someone needs help."

A GoFundMe page has additionally been established in Keira's support.
