Rohit Shetty firing case update: Six more accused have been arrested in connection with the firing outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence, taking the total number of arrests to 11. The Mumbai Crime Branch said the six were apprehended in Rajasthan and are being brought to Mumbai for further questioning.

Earlier, five accused were produced before a special MCOCA court, which remanded them to police custody. Investigators have invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), suspecting the involvement of an organised crime syndicate. Police told the court that weapons were allegedly supplied on the instructions of Shubham Lonkar, who is also linked to the Baba Siddique murder case.

Alleged Lawrence Bishnoi gang shooter arrested

According to investigators, the weapons used in the firing were supplied through a layered network. Police say that on the instructions of a man identified as Lonkar, an accused named Fasale handed over firearms to Swapnil Sakat. The latter allegedly passed those weapons to the now-arrested shooter, who carried out the firing outside the Golmaal filmmaker’s house.

Officials confirmed that the suspected shooter has finally been taken into custody. During interrogation, Fasale admitted that he accepted money in exchange for supplying weapons. However, he claimed he did not know where the firearms originally came from.

In a separate development, police recently arrested another accused, Asaram, who allegedly supplied arms under the cover of running a garage. Investigators revealed that Asaram had been working as a mechanic in Pune’s Warje area for nearly a decade. Behind the façade, however, he allegedly supplied weapons for the Bishnoi gang over the past four years.

Crime Branch officials also disclosed that Asaram was heavily influenced by Shubham Lonkar, believed to be a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi and the alleged mastermind in the Baba Siddique murder case.
