In a case that has reminded many of the Bollywood film Judaai, a dramatic settlement unfolded at the Bhopal Family Court, where a woman officer reportedly agreed to a ?1.5 crore deal involving another woman’s husband.



The incident drew comparisons with the movie Judaai, in which Urmila Matondkar strikes a deal with Sridevi for Anil Kapoor.




How the Case Unfolded



According to court records, a 42-year-old married man working in a government department fell in love with a woman officer from the same office who was nearly ten years older than him. As their relationship deepened, the man gradually distanced himself from his family, leading to frequent domestic disputes that began affecting their two children.



Distressed by the constant conflicts between her parents, the couple’s elder daughter approached the family court seeking intervention. The court summoned both parents for counselling sessions, during which the man admitted that he wanted to live with his colleague and was willing to divorce his wife.



He told counsellors that daily arguments at home had made him reluctant to return, adding that while he loved his daughters, he could no longer live with his wife. The case remained in court for nearly five years.




Settlement for the Children’s Future



Keeping the children’s future in mind, the court facilitated a mutual settlement. Divorce proceedings by mutual consent have now been initiated.



Following counselling, the wife demanded financial security for herself and her daughters — a house and Rs 27 lakh in cash. The house itself is valued at nearly Rs 1 crore, taking the total settlement to around Rs 1.5 crore.



In a surprising turn, the husband’s girlfriend accepted the terms. She reportedly said she was concerned about the future of her partner’s wife and daughters and therefore agreed to provide both the cash amount and the house.



The unusual settlement has sparked widespread discussion, with many calling it a real-life replay of Judaai — where relationships, emotions, and money intersect in unexpected ways.
