A major development has emerged in the disappearance case of Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing from her home in Arizona since February 1, 2026.

Investigators involved in recent search operations have recovered unknown foreign DNA from Guthrie’s property that does not match her profile or that of any of her close associates. The discovery has raised further concerns as authorities continue to piece together evidence surrounding her disappearance.

In addition to the DNA evidence, officials also found several gloves nearly 10 miles away from the residence of Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie’s mother, according to a spokesperson from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities have since confirmed that the 84-year-old woman was abducted. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released images of a masked individual carrying a black backpack in connection with the case. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with an average build.

Following Guthrie’s disappearance, law enforcement agencies intensified their search efforts and urged residents in nearby neighbourhoods to share any surveillance footage recorded in the month leading up to the suspected abduction.

Officials say they are actively pursuing new leads as the investigation continues. The FBI has also doubled the reward for information leading to a breakthrough in the case, raising it to $100,000.

In light of the sensitive nature of the ongoing investigation and recent evidence, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department opted to issue a written statement rather than hold a media briefing.

Meanwhile, Savannah Guthrie shared an emotional message on Instagram, expressing hope and determination. “Our lovely mom. We will never give up on her. Thank you for your prayers and hope,” she wrote.

Authorities continue to urge anyone with information to the case to come forward as efforts to locate Nancy Guthrie remain ongoing.
