Manipal: The fourth edition of Udayavani-MIC Namma Sante will be held at the KMC Greens on Saturday and Sunday (February 14 and 15). The two-day event aims to promote the local economy by providing a direct market platform for artisans, skilled workers and small entrepreneurs. Entry to the event is free for the public.
Families can visit the fair during the weekend to explore a wide range of products and make purchases for home and children. The event brings together coastal culture, unique products from different districts of the state and the efforts of local entrepreneurs under one roof. More than 120 stalls will be set up during the two-day fair.
The exhibition will feature handloom products, handicrafts, khadi items, traditional textiles, baskets, wooden articles, home-based industry products and other handmade goods. GI-tagged Udupi handloom sarees will also be showcased. Visitors can experience handloom weaving and pottery-making demonstrations. Toys from Channapatna and wooden utensils will also be on display.
Art collections by members of the Udupi Artists’ Forum, paintings by young and senior artists and photo galleries by Udayavani photographers Astro Mohan and Satish Ira will add to the attractions.
Over the past three years, thousands of visitors from Manipal, Udupi, Mangaluru, Kundapur, Karkala and nearby areas have attended the event.
