Matt Tebbutt has become a household name as the host of BBC1's Saturday Kitchen, taking the reins in 2017 after James Martinstepped down.

The chef, 52, has fronted multiple culinary programmes throughout his career, including Channel 4's Food Unwrapped and ITV's Save Money: Good Food.

His love affair with cuisine began during childhood trips to France and Italy, though his professional journey into the kitchen came somewhat later, reports the Express.

Whilst the TV personality tends to keep his private affairs under wraps, he occasionally offers glimpses into his romantic life.

The 50-year-old has been happily married to his wife, Lisa, for over 25 years since they tied the knot in 1999. Matt previously surprised everyone when he revealed how he met his wife.

Appearing on the Grilled By The Staff Canteen podcast alongside fellow chef Anna Haugh, who also features on BBC's Saturday Kitchen, Matt revealed: "I used to go out with her sister - next [question]!"

Anna responded: "How did I not know that? That is so you, well done." Eager to move past the revelation, Matt promptly asked to "move on."

Matt and Lisa are parents to two teenagers, Henry and Jessie. Whilst Matt tends to keep his family life private, he once interrupted a live Saturday Kitchen broadcast to share the wonderful news that Jessie had graduated with a first-class degree from Goldsmith's University.

He announced: "I've just had a text from my daughter. Proud dad moment. She got a first at university. So well done Jess congratulations. Yeah sorry, I have just taken over TV for my own gain. Right, let's get back to the script."

The couple previously ran the Foxhunter pub in Nant-y-derry, Wales, together. Despite its success, they took the tough decision to shut it down in order to achieve a better work-life balance.

Matt has previously shed light on their professional partnership, admitting that Lisa "definitely wears the trousers" in their relationship.

In conversation with the Mirror, he explained: "Working alongside each other was tough, but we're still together. We worked well as a team - Lisa is great with people, whereas I'm the bolshie chef in the kitchen. She definitely wears the trousers, no question... followed by my daughter!"
